The first thing that stands out about Wii is the controller.  With a resemblance to the universal TV remote, the Wii controller can be used as a handheld pointing device and can detect motion in all three dimensions which allows for rich interactive game play.    A built-in speaker and rumble device will only enhance game play.  The Wii experience is sure to challenge the conventional wisdom that kids only get fat playing video games.  

Wii will utilize WiFi technology to connect to a wireless internet connection while also having Bluetooth capabilities to interact with the ever popular Nintendo DS for game play and editing.
